Avril
A Healthier Way of Life

Project Overview

Who is Avril? Avril Supermarché Santé is an independent health food supermarket chain that offers new ways of looking at food. Like a garden, it promises freshness and abundance, encouraging and promoting a healthier lifestyle. We enter to refuel, we leave invigorated and refreshed. The concept combines natural and organic foods, vitamins and supplements, natural cosmetics, etc., all under one banner.

When we first met Avril’s management team in February 2020, the message was clear: They wanted to level up their ecommerce game to continue their brick-and-mortar success. Objective: To be THE online destination for the health food and natural cosmetics industry. This meant that their online shopping experience had to be brought up to par with the in-store experience. Avril was seeking an ecommerce site that would be up to par with its status as Quebec's leader in healthy eating and wellness.

It only took 9 months to migrate the entire ecommerce website. Click & Collect (phase 2) was launched a couple of months later

Our approach

We methodically applied our unique strategic formula: Four workshops, covering all aspects of the project, the company and its industry. We collected, analyzed and transformed all the data, from major system integrations to the smallest customer frustrations, and transformed it into a clear, concise action plan. We established ambitious goals that would bring Avril's vision to life.

UX/UI Design

While honouring Avril's complexity and relying on input from our strategy phase, the design team created a simple, convenient, customized user experience for both desktop and mobile devices, with easy-to-use navigation, attractive landing pages and two distinct purchase funnels.

Magento development

The migration from Magento 1 to Adobe Commerce was challenging, with a tight deadline and numerous third-party integrations to be reviewed or redone in one step. Using a headless approach for this project (PWA) pushed us out of our comfort zone, but it was necessary to satisfy the management team’s expectations. Ultimately, these challenges ensure that Avril is ahead of the curve in its online business development.
