Project Overview
Who is De Gaspé? De Gaspé is a furniture manufacturer based in Montreal. Much more than a furniture store, the company designs and manufactures their products with local materials and people. Each piece is engineered using a responsible approach to offer customers long-lasting furniture that combines simplicity and durability. De Gaspé cares about sustainability and knows customers do too.
Our collaboration with De Gaspé goes back to July 2018 when we were mandated to replatform their ecommerce website from a custom platform to Magento 2. The initial site was generating lackluster sales due to an unfriendly user experience as well as a lack of basic back-end features such as product import, content management and SEO fundamentals. One principal objective was to review the entire customer journey to adapt it to their unique product line. De Gaspé wanted to swiftly implement the various functionalities essential to ecommerce to grow their business online as soon as possible. We rose to the challenge by launching a minimum viable product (MVP) within three months!

Our approach
This project allowed us to establish the foundations of our expertise when it comes to the redesign of an ecommerce website, as well as design and test a careful strategic phase, which has become our signature. By refining our production phase execution, we were able to deliver the replatforming in just three months.
UX/UI Design
To adequately present the company’s wide range of products and to meet the specific needs of a furniture manufacturer, our design team revamped the customer journey by drawing inspiration from two values dear to De Gaspé: user-friendliness and simplicity. An approach that produces very concrete results! Customers understand products better and complete transactions faster.
Magento development
Replatforming and revising the entire customer journey in such a short period of time gave us the chance to consolidate our working method while acquiring cutting-edge expertise in fundamental ecommerce features, such as product import, content management and complex product configurations. We also had the opportunity to implement complex promotion and shipping rules to support the operations and growth vision of the business.
